Acceptance Process
Academics
Applicants should apply as early in the admission process as possible. The Admissions Committee reviews only completed files. Final decisions generally take up to six weeks after a file is complete. However, mid-range applicant decisions, applicants who have been recommended for the law school’s Performance Based Admission Program (PBAP), or who have criminal, civil liability, or misconduct notations on their applications generally take longer. Applicants who apply late in the admissions cycle, PBAP participants, wait-listed applicants, and transfer and visiting student applicants may not receive a final decision until July. Telephone inquiries, e-mails, and letters requesting a decision will not accelerate the evaluation process.
Without written authorization from the applicant, the Office of Admissions will not discuss an applicant’s status with anyone other than the applicant.
The processing and evaluating of completed applicant files begins after October 1st. Only completed files are reviewed for a decision. Click here for the requirements of a completed applicant file.
