NCCU Law Celebrates Class of 2024

NCCU School of Law conferred 144 Juris Doctor degrees on Friday, May 3, 2024, during its hooding ceremony at Kings Park International Church in Durham. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, the nation’s first Black woman to hold the office, imparted to the graduating class in her closing remarks, “Class of 2024, you did not come this far to make small-minded people comfortable. You came here to this place to make a difference.”

Dean Patricia Timmons-Goodson personally greeted each student as they were ceremoniously hooded. The ceremony also commemorated the 85th anniversary of the law school’s founding and celebrated its Golden Legal Eagles. NCCU School of Law proudly stands as one of only six remaining Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) law schools in the nation.
