NCCU Law Ranks Second in the Nation for Women in Leadership in PreLaw Magazine’s 2024 Edition

North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Law ranks second in the nation among top schools for women in leadership.

Female representation can be incredibly motivating for students. Robyn Magee, a third-year law student and the Student Bar Association president at North Carolina Central University School of Law, said she was inspired by the strong presence of female leaders at her school.

“Being surrounded by a majority of women in the entire school is such a motivation for me,” Magee said. “Statistics show men greatly outnumber women in this field, but you would never thing that when you walk through the doors of NCCU School of Law. The women leaders, whether faculty, administration, fellow classmates or alumni attorneys and judges, all inspire me to continue pushing through even the most challenging of experiences that law school presents. My success will be added to the collective achievement of our existence.”

Patricia Timmons-Goodson, dean of NCCU School of Law, has always been passionate about making a difference. Her role as dean follows a distinguished career in the judiciary and public service.

“I was inspired to pursue the leadership pf NCCU School of Law because I wanted to continue to impact the law,” Timmons-Goodson said. “What better way to impact the law than lead the education and preparation of the next generation of lawyers?”

The PreLaw Magazine ranking underscores NCCU School of Law’s ongoing dedication to providing exceptional educational opportunities and leadership training for women.
