Nichelle J. Perry received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz in 1989. She received her Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Law in 1993. After graduating from law school, Perry practiced law in Fayetteville, N.C. and served as a clerk for North Carolina Court of Appeals Judge Clifton E. Johnson.
In 1995, Perry became the Director of Academic Support at NCCU School of Law and was in charge of PBAP and tutorial programs. While serving as Director of Academic Support, Perry earned a Master of Library Science and began teaching legal research part-time at NCCU School of Law.
In 2005, Perry joined the NCCU Law Library staff full-time as the Reference Instructional Librarian. She served as the Reference/Electronic Services Librarian at the Kathrine R. Everett Law Library from 2007 to 2010. In 2010, Perry returned to NCCU as the Assistant Law Library Director.
Perry is a member of the North Carolina State Bar.
