About us

We are proud to be a law school that trains attorneys who become leaders and serve their various communities around the state, country, and world.  Our commitment to service is evidenced by the many opportunities we provide our current students. We empower our graduates to become highly competent and socially responsible lawyers and leaders committed to public service and meeting the needs of under-served communities. Under the leadership of Dean Browne C. Lewis, who unexpectedly passed on June 2, 2022, the Law School received a $5 million, five-year grant from Intel in April 2021 and established the NCCU Technology Law & Policy Center (TLPC) in fall 2021. Dean Lewis had the vision to create a technology and law center when she took the helm as Dean two years ago. The Law School will have the inaugural TLPC Law & Technology Summit on October 14-15, 2022. This Summit will coincide with the formal launch of the TLPC. The mission of the TLPC is to (1) produce technology-conscious lawyers who will use technology to facilitate the efficient, effective, and ethical practice of law and increase access of legal information and services to underserved communities; (2) produce diverse technology law experts to serve the changing needs of those seeking legal advice and representation; and (3) facilitate the engagement in meaningful technology-related policy discussions to ensure that technology law, regulations, and implementation are used to create a more just society.
