1L Creates new student organization

Legal Leaves is the law school’s first plant and garden club. Its mission is to promote the growth of indoor plants, herbs, even fruits and vegetables to increase the holistic health and wellness among students.

Founder and President, Shannah West decided to establish Legal Leaves when she observed the various methods used by students to cope with the stressors of law school. “Although some modern approaches including energy drinks can increase energy and non- prescriptions medications may help with focus. But long term use of these products can lead to health issues,” said West.  Legal Leaves provides a platform for students to connect with others to teach, learn, grow, and encourage the use of healthy
plant-based alternatives.
