Volunteering at the Law Library

Posted on Wednesday, July 18, 2012

This summer, the Law Library had student volunteers come and assist with various projects. Volunteer Michella Levandoski has taken some time to give a brief overview of her law library experience:

This summer, I volunteered as a student assistant at the North Carolina Central University School of Law Library.   I was able to assist with a variety of projects that allowed me to experience the different aspects of working in a law library.  For example, I worked with a librarian and helped create the Online Tutorials and Webinar LibGuide.  I enjoyed contributing to this project and doing the necessary research.   Besides working with LibGuides, I also had the opportunity to assist patrons with reference questions at the Reference Desk. I really liked helping our patrons find answers to their research questions. I found that my summer at the Law Library provided an unique insight into law librarianship, and I am now looking into the NCCU J.D./M.L.S. program.

Many thanks to Ms. Levandoski, and to all of our volunteers, for their help this summer.
