Laptop Initiative Program
The Laptop Initiative Program at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Law ensures that every student has a laptop for academic use. Students may check out a laptop from the Law School Information Technology Services (ITS) Department for the school year and for summer programs or internships. The program is specifically designed to provide students with the same testing conditions they will have when sitting for the bar examination. Students use the software package ExamSoft to complete exams on their laptops.
All laptops are equipped with:
- Windows 7 OS
- Wireless Network/Internet Access
- A DVD/CD Rom drive
- Microsoft Office 2010
- A Headphone Jack
If you decide to purchase a laptop for use within the law school environment, here are our recommended minimum requirements:
- Operating System can be ( Windows Vista, Windows 7)
- Processor (AMD or Intel)
- RAM (2 Gigabyte)
- Hard Drive (160 Gigabyte)
- DVD/CD RW
- With a webcam.
NCCU School of Law has a wireless connection throughout the building that can accommodate more than 500 simultaneous users. Users are prompted to log into the network upon connecting to the internet. Students and faculty use their myEOL username and password.
Guests of NCCU School of Law should select the “guest access” option when prompted for a username and password.
