North Carolina Central University Commencement exercises for graduate and professional students will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium on the campus of NCCU. The speaker will be John Ruffin, Ph.D., retired director of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Chancellor’s Reception for all 2014 graduates and their families will follow at 6:00 pm on Brant Street Plaza.
The Law School Ceremony will be conducted on Saturday, May 10,2014 at 10:00 a.m. at King’s Park located at 1305 Odyssey Drive, Durham, NC. The speaker will be Attorney Paulette Brown, labor and employment law partner and chief diversity officer at Edwards Wildman Palmer, LLP in Morristown, NJ. She is the President-Elect of the American Bar Association and in August 2015, will become the first woman of color to lead the ABA. The ceremony will last approximately two hours, after which, a light reception will be held.
