Each year, our students have the opportunity to participate in a number of job fairs as they seek employment.
The School of Law participates in two special placement programs. The North Carolina State Bar Plan for Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA) sponsors summer internships for students to work with a public interest organization in North Carolina. During these internships, students work with persons who are unable to afford legal counsel. This program helps to lay the foundation for a commitment to public service.
The other special placement program is the North Carolina Bar Association’s Minorities in the Profession Committee Minority Summer Law Clerkship Program. This program seeks to enhance the opportunities for minorities to obtain summer positions with major law firms and corporate legal departments in the state. The participating employers each commit to accept any of the students who successfully compete for a spot win this program.
Whether you are a 1L, 2L, or 3L, these proposed timelines are here to help keep your job search on track.
