NCCU Law Participates in the Southern Regional Black Law Student Association Convention

The 40th Regional Convention of the Southern Region of the National Black Law Student Association (SRBLSA) was held in Raleigh, North Carolina January 12-16, 2011. SRBLSA is the largest region of NBLSA encompassing 11 states and over 2,000 African American law students across the South.

North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Law hosted the welcome reception of the convention where students from the South came to mingle with professors, lawyers and students.

This year NCCU Law, had two students who were members of the executive board of SRBLSA ( 2L Jamie Davis, Vice Chair and 3L Niccoya Dobson, Sub-region 3 Director). Both Davis and obson were instrumental in organizing the convention and recruited NCCU Law alum Willie Gary to be the keynote speaker at the Awards Gala. Moreover, Davis was elected chair of SRBLSA and is the first NCCU Law student to hold this position. As chair, she will sit on both the National and Regional Executive Board for NBLSA.
