Jacquelyn Adcock and Jennifer Feinstein

Bring home wins from the 2015

JEFFRY S. ABRAMS – NATIONAL MEDIATOR COMPETITION

On behalf of the DRI Institute, Director Mark Morris, faculty and staff, we’d like to extend a heartfelt

congratulations to this year’s winners of The Jeffry S. Abrams National Mediator Competition that took place in Houston Texas this past weekend on October 9-10.

Jennifer Feinstein (Finalist) and Jacquelyn Adcock (Semi-Finalist) both 3L’s (better known as the J-Team in the DRI suite) represented NCCU School of Law against 22 other law schools in the country.

We are especially proud of these young ladies who entered this competition under circumstances that would have been deterrents for other skilled student mediators.  The team was the last to enter the competition, leaving them limited time to crunch in long hours of preparation. The J-Team traveled to the competition without the coach, due to a family medical emergency.

In addition to that, Amy Hawks, Associate Director of the University of Houston Law School’s Blakely Advocacy  Institute commented – “We –and especially the judges – were very impressed with the caliber of the competitors this year”. We all thank Jacquelyn and

Jennifer for making us all proud and bringing home the brass!

The Jeffry S. Abrams National Mediator Competition is one of the only national competitions where students serve as mediators and are judged on their effectiveness as mediators by experts in the mediation field.

We are proud of our DRI Institute, and we welcome and encourage you to take a closer look at the wonderful skill based class offerings available!

Congratulations again Jennifer and Jacquelyn!
