In February, Raleigh Telegram newspaper publisher and Editor Randall Gregg ‘05 was embedded with the 82nd Airborne soldiers from Fort Bragg, North Carolina in Port au Prince, Haiti for eight days as part of his newspaper’s coverage of the earthquake relief efforts. Gregg stayed with soldiers as they slept on outdoor cots, performed daily daylight and night patrols, and distributed food and water to the Haitian people. In addition, he also toured the country in US Navy helicopters from the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier.
