Professor Branch graduated cum laude from Arkansas State University with a B.S. in Accounting.  She sat for and passed the Certified Public Accountant exam prior to entering law school at the University of Arkansas.  She received her juris doctor with High Honors from the University of Arkansas.  While at the University of Arkansas, she served as a member of the Arkansas Law Review.

Professor Branch received her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from the University of Florida College of Law.  After graduation, she served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Florida where she taught Federal Tax Research and Advanced Corporate Tax to the LL.M. candidates and Legal Accounting and Basic Income Tax to the J.D. candidates.

Following her visit at the University of Florida College of Law, Professor Branch went on to practice law in the Office of Chief Counsel for the IRS.  She began her time as a generalist litigating cases before the United States Tax Court along with providing advice to IRS Agents, Revenue Officers, Appeals Officers, and the Taxpayer Advocate’s Office.  After the Office of Chief Counsel reorganized in 2000, Professor Branch completed her service as a Senior Attorney in the Large & Mid-Sized Business Division.

Prior to joining the law school in the Fall 2008, Professor Branch worked with small businesses and individuals dealing with a variety of tax issues, including representation before the Internal Revenue Service in tax audits.  Professor Branch is licensed to practice law in Arkansas and is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court.

Professor Branch teaches tax courses and supervises the Small Business and Development Clinic.
