Timothy J. Peterkin was born in Red Springs, N.C. He received his bachelor’s degree in English from North Carolina Central University (NCCU) and his Juris Doctor from NCCU School of Law.
After serving for several years in the non-profit community, Professor Peterkin decided to expand his ability to serve clients and opened up his law office, The Peterkin Law Firm, in Raleigh, N.C. The firm has accepted cases all over the state, including Wake, Durham, Wilson, Edgecombe, Nash, Forsyth, Granville, Cumberland, Hoke and Robeson Counties.
Professor Peterkin is known for fighting for his clients, while maintaining respect for the other parties in the case. He works very hard to resolve situations for the best interest of the children. He is well-respected in the legal community due to his cordiality and level-headed approach to the law.
At NCCU School of Law, Professor Peterkin supervises the students in the Foreclosure Prevention Project. He teaches Legal Writing and Analysis, Legal Research and Persuasion, and Legal Letters.
Professor Peterkin is a member of the N.C. Bar Association and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He enjoys marathon races for charity and serves on several committees in local and national organizations.
