Biography:

Professor Coleman is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina.  After earning her J.D. at North Carolina Central University School of Law (NCCU), she went on to earn her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation at the University of Florida Levin College of Law.  She then returned to Fayetteville, North Carolina, where she practiced privately for three years at a small firm, specializing in the areas of Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Tax and Corporate Law.  She left the firm to work for a mid-sized law firm in Fayetteville where she practiced in the same areas for two years.

Professor Coleman has a strong passion for serving underrepresented groups and has always wanted to return to NCCU to continue her legal work.

Professor Coleman is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court.

While in private practice, Professor Coleman devoted a great deal of her time to volunteer work with local non-profits and believes that all individuals who are capable should give their time to worthy causes.

Professor Coleman enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on the Tar Heels, cooking, and exploring the area with her rescue dog, Titan.
