Biography

Courtney Bryant is the Legal Writing Specialist in the Legal Writing Center at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Law. She is from Allendale, South Carolina. In 2005, Professor Bryant received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina State University. She worked at a small non-profit organization in Chapel Hill, North Carolina until she began law school in 2007. Professor Bryant graduated from NCCU School of Law in 2010. Professor Bryant also received her Master of Science in Criminal Justice from East Carolina University in 2015.

After law school, Professor Bryant worked in a small firm where she split her time between criminal defense and personal injury. She also practiced in other areas of the law such as: family law, contract disputes, workers’ compensation and Social Security disability. Prior to becoming the Legal Writing Specialist, she was an adjunct in the NCCU School of Law Academic Success Unit and the Campbell University School of Law Bar Success Program.

Professor Bryant lives in Garner with her husband and two sons. She is an avid football fan and enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.
