Biography

Prior to joining the faculty at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Law, Professor Thomas Roberts was a teaching fellow at Elon University School of Law.  At NCCU, Professor Thomas Roberts teaches Contracts; Legal Letters; and Sales and Secured Transactions.  She has previously taught Business Law; Introduction to Legal Studies; and Legal Method and Communication at other institutions of higher education.

Upon graduating from law school, Professor Thomas Roberts served as law clerk to the Honorable Sheila R. Tillerson Adams, Administrative Judge, of Prince George’s County Circuit Court.  Following her clerkship, she joined the law firm of Alston & Bird LLP as an associate in the Global Finance and Debt Products group.  Subsequently, she served as in-house counsel in the Lending group at BB&T Bank.  During law school, she was an extern for the Honorable Alexander Williams, Jr., of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.

Professor Thomas Roberts received her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and her M.B.A. and J.D. from Howard University, where she earned several academic awards.  She is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
