Carissa Spivey Burroughs attended North Carolina State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in mass communications in 2000. Prior to joining the Law School, she was employed as a Consumer Specialist at the North Carolina Department of Justice, specializing in telemarketing fraud. She started her career as an Account Coordinator for a local advertising firm.
Burroughs has also worked as a legal assistant for a Raleigh law firm specializing in foreclosure and bankruptcy law, and later for a Raleigh law firm specializing in insurance litigation and personal injury.
