Community

Durham, North Carolina has a large number of citizens whose incomes fall below the United States poverty level. These families and individuals frequently experience legal problems with eviction, foreclosure, child custody, divorce and domestic violence, education, veteran’s rights and criminal matters to mention just a few.

North Carolina Central University School of Law’s Legal Clinic is committed to providing local residents with equal access to lawyers and the courts.  In addition, the Clinic is committed to using its resources to address pressing community issues whether they involve housing, education or other areas of critical importance. Thus, among other things, the Clinic will serve as a resource for community members and groups while educating the community on important issues.
