The team emerged as one of six teams from the preliminary round on Friday afternoon tied for second. Other teams competing included Washington and Lee (two teams), Campbell University, University of Richmond, and Liberty University.

On Saturday morning our team went head to head against the fourth place team.  After defeating that team, NCCU entered the final round against Washington and Lee and the University of Richmond.

The final round resulted in the University of Richmond being declared the winners and Washington and Lee was awarded second place.  Erika Bales and Lynn Burke, representing NCCU School of Law, were declared the third place finishers. The team from the University of Richmond will be representing our region at the National competition to be held in Waco, Texas in March.

Congratulations to Erika Bales and Lynn Burke. They represented us well and exhibited the kind of professionalism and “sportswomanship” we expect of our students. The team and their coach, Professor Fred J. Williams, extend thanks to every faculty, student, and staff member who assisted in the many ways needed to prepare for this competition.
