The Honorable Joseph A. Williams ’75 and his wife Georgia Guest Williams have made a generous contribution of $50,000 to the North Carolina Central University School of Law. Judge Williams is in private practice in Greensboro, North Carolina. Mrs. Williams is the Office Manager for their firm. The Williams are the proud parents of Joseph A. Williams II and Andria Jacqueline Williams, who is a third year law student at the NCCU School of Law.
In commenting on making the gift, Mr. Williams said “We were honored to make this gift. The opportunity created by my matriculation at the Law School is the reason for my family’s economic success. I believe the graduates of our Law School are morally obligated to support the Law School according to their respective abilities. I also believe the Law School’s commitment to diversity has had a major positive impact on the legal community in North Carolina. Given that, NCCU Law graduates are making significant contributions in the judiciary, state government, as well as the private sector. Finally, the school’s future can only be assured through the generosity of its graduates. Besides, who can say no to Dean Pierce?”
Dean Raymond C. Pierce was elated to receive the gift. Pierce said, “The Law School is very fortunate to have received such a magnanimous gift from Joe and Georgia Williams. The Williams are steadfast, loyal supporters of the Law School. From contributing financially to hosting alumni receptions in Greensboro, the Williams have contributed greatly to the success of the Law School and its stellar reputation.”
