2019 Commencement Exercises

North Carolina Central University Commencement exercises for graduate and professional students will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium on the campus of NCCU. The speaker for the Graduate and Professional Commencement Speaker will be the Honorable Cheri Beasley, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina. The Baccalaureate Commencement Speaker will be Rev. Dr. William Barber II, Pastor & Social Justice Advocate, NCCU Alumnus.   The program is scheduled for two hours. The Chancellor’s Reception for all 2019 graduates and their families will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Brant Street Plaza.

Honorable Wanda G. Bryant, NC Court of Appeals

The Law School ceremony will be conducted on Saturday, May 11th, at 11:00 a.m. at King’s Park International Church, located at 1305 Odyssey Drive, Durham, NC. The speaker for the Law School ceremony will be the Honorable Judge Wanda G. Bryant, North Carolina Court of Appeals.

Faculty are asked to line up outside of the West entrance of King’s Park by 10:15 a.m. (someone will be in the parking lot to direct you). Faculty will march in with the graduates and be seated on the stage. The ceremony will last approximately 90 minutes.
